Adding a facebook link on a wordpress site

There are two basic methods

  • Drag a text widget onto the sidebar, and just paste your facebook link into the text widget
  • Use a wordpress widget like Follow Me. It will prompt for any social links like facebook and put in the right icon

Note: there are other plugins that let you directly do a “like”, but I’ve personally found them pretty fragile, since facebook changes their APIs all the time. Seems much easier just to link to the facebook page, and folks can “like” from there.
